No, I’m not saying we should, I’m saying there is no objective reason not to.

You want tigers to stay alive because you think they are majestic, want to research them, or whatever. Poachers want to kill them for their fur or meat, for themselves or to sell.
Both of these desires are rooted in self interest, what makes your view the right one?

Again, that is your opinion. I think mars is just as good as earth, what makes your opinion better?
That all being said, I don’t even like to kill spiders anymore, I have a lot of empathy to individual creatures, and there are many organisms I would be sad to see go extinct. But that is my opinion, based in self interest, and other people aren’t “the worst” for disagreeing with me.
